Heard a good song by 707 called I could be good for you. Anyone out there familiar with this band. Were they, are they, considered a new wave band? Other good songs. Are they still around?

I only have one track of theirs, Slow Down, thanks to Randy and the CD exchange. I don't know if I would call them New Wave. Definitely an eighties flavor but I think they're more of a rock band. You can preview the tracks that are available on iTunes.

There was a thread about 707 a few months ago. I can't remember which section it was in. I'm sure you'll find it if you do a search.

First lp was decent-2nd not so hot. Not new wave--more on the rock side.

707 is most definitely not new wave, but they ARE a good example of non-mainstream, 80's AOR. The debut lp has the minor hit "I could be good for you", which I really like.

None of it's going to blow you away (ie - "how did these guys not make it huge?") but if you're like me, you'll like it as a reminder of the sound of the era.

Similar bands would be something like Harlequin or Shooting Star.

The "Mega Force" album by 707 says on the back: "Special Thanks to REO Speedwagon for their help and friendship."

I just thought that was funny.

BTW I know this because I have it.
