I am taking a course called "Women and Religion" and we are invited to write a quote on the blackboard everyday if we choose. I was trying to think of some NW lyrics that might fit the bill. Does anyone have any ideas?
"Man is not a rational animal, he is a rationalizing animal." ~Robert Heinlein

A few songs to check out the lyrics to:
Jimmy Somerville - Eve
Ani DiFranco - Adam and Eve
The Incredible String Band - Adam and Eve
The Fall - Ten Houses of Eve
These might fit the bill, there has to others...

"They say Eve tempted Adam with an apple/Man, I ain't goin' for that". - Pink Cadillac (granted, not new wave, but the first thing that popped in my head).

Not new wave, but there's Van Stephenson's "Modern Day Delilah".
The only NW songs that are popping into my mind are
* 88 Lines about 44 women: "Deborah was a Catholic girl, she held out to the bitter end" and "Cathy was a Jesus freak, she liked that kind of misery".
* Joan of Arc/Maid of Orleans, but that's more applied religion. [:)]

There's a line about Eve in The Church's "Reptile."
And I should have believed Eve.
She said we had to blow.
She was the apple of my eye.
It wasn't long ago. (Chorus)
