He has some really good albums from the 70s and the 80s and maybe even to today. His guitar is good sounding and the guy who does the singing is nice with the volcals.

Ahh, yes, Robin Trower... slated to be the next Jimi Hendrix. His best material was from the early to mid 70's and then they ran out of gas (imo, of course). James Dewar on Bass and vocals, and Bill Lordan on Drums were a solid rhythm section that completed the trio.

The two albums worth listening to are "Bridge Of Sighs" and "Robin Trower Live" (imo, of course). The drum solo on Live's "Alethea" is unbelievable!!!!

I've heard sample clips of his more recent live recordings and am tempted to buy it, but for now I am content with the 10 or so signature tracks from the 70's.

Trower is a bit late to the new wave party, but there's room for everybody. Has George Thorogood has made the leap yet?

Big fan or Trower also since I was a kid.However,he is nowhere close to the realm of the new wave-punk-alternative genre.

Well the header for this area says General New Wave AND 80s Discussion, so I did not realize you couldn't talk about anything non-new wave here. Sure are lots of bands here that don't seem at all new wave, just 80s, so I thought that was ok since Trower released well through the 80s even through current decade. I clearly realized he was not new wave.

Do we need to get an okay before posting, so we don't rattle anyone? Just let me know who needs to approve the artist and I'll ask first next time, no worries.

Lots of artists here aren't new wave, and it says & '80s', so I didn't realize it would offend someone. Looking at lots of the posts in the past here, it seemed ok since so many of them are far removed from new wave and are just 80's. Thought maybe I stumbled upon a decent site.

Welcome aboard CounterCircular. A little friendly hazing, sure, but if you stick around I think you will enjoy this site if you like any new wave at all.

I even have a copy of Trower's Bridge Of Sighs somewhere in my collection...

Was'nt trying to come across as being rude.Yes,Trower put out some excellent music and I was fortunate to see him in a small club in Atlanta 1982.Sad he once filled giant stadiums in the 70's and at that time in the early 80's it was small venues-this also applies to Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush,Ronnie Montrose,Alvin Lee and Ten Years after etc...Great rockin' roll thats forever in my blood.Check out some of the You Tube videos of Trower then and now-good stuff to watch !

I really don't think such a harsh response was necessary. I'm sure we could all find lyrics to express a response to your retort barmy. One of my favorites is by DEVO and I think it would be apropriate here.
