I just downloaded (and played) Mike P's song of the week "Romantic Dreams" by Industry. In his description he says that it is on both releases by the group (EP and LP), the first being the EP.
But I have an album (unfortunately currently inaccessible) that predates these releases. From what I can remember it has a black cover with some yellow lines outlining ?2 heads. On the back cover there is a contact address which is some town on Long Island.I think the release date was 1979.
As I recall, the music is very experimental, non-melodic, what would be called "electronic music". I believe I only played it once, and filed it away for 20+ years now.

Is this the same Industry as "State of the Nation"? They were from Long Island as I recall.

The only track I have by this band is "Are You Ready For The Wave" which would fit the description of the 79 release. If it is, I wouldn't mind hearing more of it.

That's interesting ... seems like it almost has to be the same band. I'd love to hear some of this.

Strangely enough I just looked thru the 200 or so vinyl slabs in my apartment and I found it. I was fairly close in the description.

schwenko, before going back to storage, how about a CD-R swap of sorts?? It would be a shame to bury it again.

Next time we hook up in the city for a cool concert or something, I'd love to pick that up and any others you might be urghing for. Maybe even dupe that Klaus Nomi DVD! [:p]

Ah, it's gets more interesting now doesn't it? So the core member is Caronia, who I think was the primary songwriter as well. I'll bet the [b]Turning to Light[/b] EP sounds much closer to the "State of the Nation" era material.

Very Electro with a pop sounding voice. kind of like "the twins" musicaly

I reviewed Industry's "Stranger to Stranger" album on the All-Music Guide. Record sounds great ripped onto CDR. Here's my article:
