I wasn't a regular, just taped 6 shows back in the early 80's. Some of the artists that I saw were General Public, Julian Lennon, Donna Summer, to name a few....not too proud to embarrass myself...

Maybe if I combined all the shots that I was in for the six shows, that could be my 15 minutes of fame according to Andy Warhol....hmmm

You were ON the show, like in the audience? I actually have the General Public appearance on VHS but I only taped it while they played their two songs.

You weren't, by any chance, at the PIL apearance, were you? That would have one to witness in person!

Oh man, I am dying to find out what happened to that guy in the sunglasses with all those band pins who was in the audience during the ep of "American Bandstand" PiL showed up in. You know, the one who does those robotic dance moves and who desperately tries to get John Lydon's attention when Lydon is kinda close to him? You can tell he's a total PiL/Lydon fanboy and is just totally stoked to have this kind of thing on AB? Yeah, I have been super-curious about where he's gone to since about 1995, when I got a chance to see that and other classic eps of AB when VH1 reran them. I would be beyond thrilled if he ended up being a NWO board lurkerbeing, which IMO is a possibility. So if he's reading this, PLEASE delurk and show yourself to us! I personally would be *super* thrilled and flattered.

I did some research on tv.com and discovered that it was season 28, and I can only remember four episodes (2611, 2612, 2613 & 2614). The one with Donna Summer was the Christmas special and some of the songs were actually "Live" recordings instead of lipsinked. That one aired 12/22/84. Others artists were Shalamar, Dan Hartman and Kashif. I think I taped three of the episodes and my parents may still have the tapes. I left for college in early Jan 1985 and missed viewing 2-3 episodes. I would like to find out if VH1 is going to air those again or if they sell DVD's of it.....

I was one of the dancing fools....Seeing Dave Wakeling and Raking Roger was well worth the embarrassment...

I hate to say it, but I was on CLUB MTV once. It was the one with Bobby Brown, and I was wearing a Sex Pistols T-shirt. I was REALLY bummed that I had JUST missed the taping with Information Society...
