Kajagoogoo back with original lineup

Postby Surly » Thu Feb 28, 2008 8:32 am

This was reported last week on Remembertheeighties.com (or whatever the link is) but I got an email blast from Nick Beggs' wife today with more info. They are back with the full lineup, including Limahl, and are going to play some Euro festival dates this summer. They are also going to record a new album.

Their website has a new publicity photo and a link to their Myspace page:

This is a band that many people hate, but for some reason, I dig 'em. I know they're cheesy as hell, but I get a kick out of listening to their stuff. Even the post-Limahl stuff. Plus, Nick Beggs is one hell of a bass (and Chapman Stick) player...

Kajagoogoo has always been one of my favorite bands. Beggs is the only one that's been able to establish any credibility over the years, but I thought they were all sold musicians.

As far as a new album goes, I'll believe it when I see it. They've already tried to do this a couple of times and it hasn't worked. Limahl and the rest of the band have a serious difference of opinion when it comes to what his share of the loot should be.

Wow - sure seems legit! You even go to the Kajagoogoo MySpace page and the first thing that plays is Limahl's "Never Ending Story". I'd like to know what Frayo thinks of all this - haven't heard from my boy in awhile. He still around?
