I've developed a love for synthpop. Actually, I already liked them years ago. But listening to a few after a decade of hibernation, I started drooling for more new wave. Could someone recommend me with some songs that play out the same style as Ken Laszlo and Al Corley? So far, I've listened to:

Hilfe! Can anyone recommend me some songs?! I'm so much in need.

What really pushed me to new wave was listening to "bringing home the ashes" by the wild swans. You should try it too. Their vocalist was paul simpson, and he has this, ghost-like projection over the stereo. He also sang for the care.

Another one you should try is industry. They're most famous for singing "state of the nation". Since you're in the philippines, i'm sure you know it. The song has a video in youtube in case the title's not familiar. They only had one album, but all songs had this upbeat, attractive shade. i recommend it.

Speaking of Industry's album, I've been looking for it, without any success. The only song I have (and love) is "State Of The Nation."

If I may clarify SallyLightfoot's list, The Crazy 8's were a ska band with no synths...but I highly recommend Johnny Q regardless!

I would change the word synthpop to new wave because most songs on your list SallyLigfhtfoot, I would not even remotely consider them to be synthpop songs.

Try the [b]Obscure 80's topic[/b]. I found the posters on that board to be extremely knowledgeable and helpful for (insert your preferred NW sub-genre here).

In my 80's music-listener demographic, Book of Love (esp. 'Boy') was a mainstay of the New Wave playlists. At the time, and now, I just considered it to be New Wave. Some other artists/tracks in roughly that same space would be:

Dominatrix - 'Dominatrix Sleeps Tonight'
Transvision Vamp - 'Living on Video'
Hilary - 'Kinetic'
Boney M - (pretty much anything)
