What should I attend? Both bands are playing on May, 9th two different venues in Belgrade. I like them both though I'm more familiar with Gang Of Four, but I also wouldn't want to miss the Sparks.

Gang Of Four. How is there even any question???

Sparks are really important, probably more so to the developement of punk and new wave....and I love some of the music....

but I like Gang Of Four better....they probably wont play any of the dance era stuff right?

Sparks,they go way back Mankeys,Maels,but Entertainment is a must for serious new wave/punk people.I will side with the Sparks.

I enjoy Sparks but there is no question...it HAS to be Gang of Four. Have you ever seen them? I would imagine that only Jon King and Andy Gill remain from their heyday. They put on a great, great show. I have been fortunate enough to see them four times.



We didn't sell a lot of records, but somehow we left an impression.

Last go 'round in 2005 was the full original lineup in fact. Fantastic too. But who to see really depends on what you like the best. I mean, don't go see GOF because they're supposedly more essential. You're talking about pretty wildly different music. If you're a Sparks fanatic, by all means don't miss them. They [i]are[/i] an important band. But then again. GOF put on one seriously meaty show.

Yeah, they ain't got much in common, other than that they are playing Belgrade the same night.
It will be Gang of Four as I already thought. Thanks for Suggestions!

Hugo Burnham and Dave Allen? That's awesome! I only saw this lineup the first time I saw them. The last time, in 1991, only King and Gill remained.
