(Guys, pls head to
www.kajagoogoo.com for free download of their new album, Gone To The Moon.yeah!!)
Nick, Limahl, Jez, Steve and Stuart have returned for tour/new album.
its great to see the arch-enemy of DuranDuran togather again after soooo many years[:D]
http://www.kajagoogoo.com/
According to Nick Beggs on Myspace;
"I can hear the question coming from far off.
"Why now? What changed?"
Well...
I think we all wanted this since VH-1 Bands Reunited.
However accounting and contracts just didn't make it seem feasible then.
But the real big difference is Bradley Snelling!
Our new manager has stepped into the fray and got us talking and after a very short period we all realized that this is workable.
We've spent a little time together doing the photo shoot
and it was so much fun. So we thought we'd pick it up from where we left off in 83.
We all want to do this for the right reasons and we all have our teeth and hair.
It's a pleasure to be in a band with Limahl and Jez again after 25 years"

Arch-enemy? Sorry for being a bit dense here, but didn't Nick Rhodes produce a few of their songs? [?]

DreamRedux, yeah Nick/Colin Thurston produced White Feathers
Since Kaja was so closely related with Duran, they were inevitably being compared to each other. in S.E Asia circa '83/'84, Duran Duran was pitted against Kajagoogoo in a music magazine & Duran Duran won throughout. It was a friendly competition, just like Duran/Spandau with Mike Read
alas, Kaja with Limahl only lasted 1 album. if not...the battle would have continued....[;)]

Got it. Thanks latebar. [8D]
That reminds me of something Richard Blade did here with his Video 1 show: Battle of the Heartthrobs. I don't recall who won, but I wouldn't be surprised if it were Duran Duran. I know they were up there. [:D]

All things considered, any perceived war between these bands was over almost before it started. Duran Duran won this one by a landslide. Plus...Duran Duran's lead singer still has his hair. I saw a recent picture of Limahl. Not so much to work with!
We didn't sell a lot of records, but somehow we left an impression.

When White Feathers was released in early '83, Duran already had 2 albums under their belt & after 7 & Ragged Tiger was released in late '83, Duran became super-massive while Limahl was fired by the band by then.
But giving credit where its due, "Too Shy" was in the top of the charts(UK#1, US#5) even before any of Duran singles were to do so[:D]
Really looking forward to this new Kaja with Limahl, dying to hear how they sound like now. Dare i wish for White Feathers II?
Limahl hair? mmm yeah only thing to do is to comb forward heh heh

Do we really need THIS comeback?
[xx(]
I don't know how big were "the too shy-shys" in the USA, but here in Europe they didn't even reach level enough to clean Duran Duran's shoes.
They were no more than a one hit wonder with the second most horrible clothing look, behind Culture Club and close-followed by the Thompson Twins!

They did have quite a few hits in their home country, their first five making the top 25, but things did go rather quiet after Chris left; their second album spent only three weeks in the chart and their third didn't even chart.

Doctor, hold me now: let's say "most time-dated" instead of "horrible". Better symptoms nows? [;)]
First-era Spandau Ballet had a lot to say in that dressing contest, too.

Well, out of their home country was just "Too shy", "Too shy" and more "Too shy", one of the most overrated songs of the new wave era, in my poor opinion. And when we finally could get to forget "Too shy"... we had to stand an even higher dose of Limahl's "Neverending story" [xx(]
Yes, if you are trying to guess, I don't dig this band, no... [:D][:D][:D][:D]
