Welcome!

Fountains of Wayne's "Stacy's Mom" should have made by The Cars. So should Metro Station's "Shake It" (currently riding the charts), come to think of it.

Everything by Camouflage might as well have been by Depeche Mode.

And Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis should have given The Human League's "Human" to the S.O.S. Band or Janet Jackson or whoever. I don't think I've ever heard a bigger incongruity between artist and song before or since.

Warm Leatherette could easily have been a Bauhaus original, only better. Maybe I'm being undully influence by how insanely great Peter and Trent's cover was:

I still say that Men At Work's "Helpless Automaton" and Blondie's "11:59" are actually songs by Devo.

Devo should make an official cover of Weird Al's "Dare To Be Stupid" so I can ditch his otherwise unfunny cd.

Kenny Loggins should have made "I Gotta Try" instead of Michael McDonald. [:D]

That's odd that you think this. I always thought that Loggins should have made the Doobie's "What a Fool Believes".

Maybe you already knew this and I'm just missing the sarcasm but Kenny did do this song ... he co-wrote it and there's even a live version on the Outside: From the Redwoods cd which features Michael McDonald.

Yeah. I did know that. I was being sarcastic in response to hutter's joke about "I Gotta Try" which was also recorded by Loggins.

Okay, serious entry this time - I like the way Climax Blues Band did this tune, but always felt that the Bee Gee's could have done a better version -

Should've ignored it. Just an attempt to see how to embed a PDF document in forums with the correct syntax before I post it on another board. I thought I'd try it on one of my older posts. If it didn't work (which clearly it didn't) I thought I could just delete the topic. Unfortunately since there were replies I couldn't!

Hope you didn't get too worked up about Spit. Are you relaxed now?[;)]

Not worked up at all. That's why I said "just wondering".

Frozen Ghost - "Should I See" is the best song The Fixx never recorded.

<p align="justify">I always wondered how DeMode's songs would sound like if NewOrder were to cover them and vice versa. "Black Celebration" a la Bernard Sumner, "Thieves Like Us" a la Martin L. Gore, etc[}:)]
