It is really sad when an artist you like starts to lose their voice in a very big way,and they can no longer carry a tune at least like they once did,and then their material starts to also become bad as well.A great case in point would be Graham Parker.He has been one of my favorite New Wave singers and artists from day one.But the last few CD's of his have really gone downhill in quite a big way.The fact that his voice is no longer as strong as it once was,is a big factor.


And the material itself just isn't like it used to be.His voice just didn't just get bad overnight,it gradually became worse,and now I am afraid can help it anymore.I noticed about 10 years ago,that Graham's voice was starting to go downhill.Never did I think he would lose it altogether.It is sad,because like I said I always enjoyed his songs and his music.Has anyone else noticed this about Graham Parker? The guy is a legend in New Wave and is an excellent songwriter and a musician.Sorry to hear that he can longer carry a tune like he once did.

His last great album that I recall with still some great songs and material that I believe was the last one I bought by him before his voice got worse was "Burning Questions" I can't remember the names of his other albums after that right now.Because the

"Squeezing Out the Sparks" is my favorite GP & the Rumour album. Brilliant album from 1979. Cynical, witty, and angry. Worth picking up if you can.

Funny you mention this. Graham Parker is performing down the street from me on October 27th, in Toms River.

I guess it's to each his own, but I have been a big GP fan through the years, have all his LP's/CD's, incluidng live material, and have seen him live several times, as recently as the last few years. I do not think one bit his song craft, his voice, or ab
