I have heard that song hundreds of times, but...

A little peek at the Genesis of this notion....
Just got a new Cell Phone with a gig of memory and a cool music player/PC sync thing going on. So I have taken on quite a task - fill that gig with songs from the late 70s and 80s that really either kick-ass or typify what the genre was all about. I started about a month ago - adding like ten songs a day and then listening to the set in random order to see if I had the urge to skip any. Not only that, but I was adding the album art to each MP3, cause methinks it is really cool to see all those covers as these great tunes play.
Anywho, during this project I have come to realize there are certain ones that, even though I have heard them hundreds of times I never tire of them. Let's face it - a lot of that music is really dated (See Ebn/Ozn). Anyway, I would be interested to see what you lot had to say. What are some NW songs that you never tire of? There are lots on my list, but I will start with just one...

The Pretenders - "The Wait"
...from their debut album. Quite possibly the most perfect rock song ever written! It never gets old, and it kicks more ass than Red Foreman!

Next? I hope to gainsome inspiration for my phone collection!

Another one...

Men at Work - "Overkill"
...from Cargo. The perfect marriage of melody and lyric. That song moves me like frickin' Marvin Gaye!

The Records "Starry Eyes"
The Romantics "What I Like About You"
The Lucy Show "Melody"

I've never gotten sick of these tunes. That Romantics song is in commercials and played at sporting events, but I love it beyond measure.

What?! Of all the amazing Yazoo songs, you pick this one? One of their worst songs (and easily the weakest on Eric's). I'm very surprised. I only say this cause I agree with (and pretty much love) every other song you mentioned (though I've grown more than a little tired of JCGE through the years and, to a lesser extent, SALS).

Just what is the appeal of it?
