The Chameleons UK - Tears - #1 All-Time?

Postby more than this » Wed Nov 10, 2004 9:14 pm

Sorry for another lame thread, but I just wanted to know if anyone else out there would name Tears as their #1 favorite song all-time. Because it's mine. Would it even make your top 5...10? I know that picking a number one song all-time is an impossible task, but has this song ever been or is it currently your favorite-est song?

That's a big YES for me!!! I first heard it from a various artists compilation and I fell in love with it! Heard the album "Hear Today, Gone Tomorrow" but never found anything else anywhere. So hard to find one in the Philippines...[:(!]

Awesome group!

To hard to pin down a definitive #1 of their stuff alone. It's definitely up there, but they have so many truly great songs.

Sorry, no, I'd rate "Up the Down Escalator", "Monkeyland", "Second Skin", and "In Shreds" ahead of it, but it's still an amazing track.

They may well be my ultimate favorite group, period. Tears would not be my favorite track, although it is great.

I always loved 'View From A Hill' on Script of The Bridge, every track is actually great, but that one is just so good.

Tears is a great song. When I get hooked up on the hub I'll post a cover version of the song that is pretty good. I agree with the others that there are better Chameleons songs, It would be impossible for me to pick just a few.

I agree with Grunch. It's a beautiful tune but I'd rattle of a handful of Chamz titles that I think are top before mentioning "Tears". To this day I still have a hard time deciding whether I prefer the LP version or the "full band" single version of it.

I picked up all their DVD's as well and it is so great so see them performing.

Anyone lucky enough to ever catch them in concert??? I seriously envy you big time if you did.

I had in '02. A entire weeks worth of The Chameleons as well as keeping company with a bunch of UKers that made the trip for a handful of the east coast concerts which lead to hanging out with the band backstage for an untabulated amount of hours. Nothing
