When a topic like this comes up, you KNOW you're getting old. My bad back took on a whole new meaning when I thought of this [:o)] Anyway, I do think it's cool when I see the young folk bopping their heads to THE ONLY MUSIC THAT EVER MATTERED [8D]

Damn Rock Band game. I had my son primed. He was on the right path and then that game came into the house. I'm hoping he sees the light again.

I used to have to go into my 12 year old room to get my best of the 80's and Cock Robin cds back, but now he has an Ipod and downloads crap I'd never listen to. Most of it is inspired from video game music.

My kids are still fairly young but they do love singing and dancing along to Roman Holliday (my preschool-aged daughter does a great rendition of Motormania). They love ska, Bad Manners and The Specials in particular, as well as Stray Cats. My own little Mini Pops.

In terms of newer music, they really respond to Slave to the Square Wave!

My kids - ages 16, 14, 10 and 6 have been raised on it. They listen to a lot of the newer stuff on their own, but when we're listening as a family, it's to nothing but the good stuff. (My wife is a new waver just like me, so there is no argument about music.)

New Wave or nothing!

My daughter? No, not at all...but my son is a big Oingo Boingo and Devo fan. They both have access to my library but they rarely venture down there.

I've tried, but my 9 YO son has pretty much lost interest in music. He still likes "I Could Be Happy", but his real passion is "Dragostea Din Tei" by O-Zone. Groan.

My son is a huge metal head. That's his dad's fault.

My oldest daughter likes a lot of the crap that most 'tweens like (Fall Out Boy, for example), but she also loves The Cure. That's my fault [:D]

My youngest daughter is only 8. Anything that comes from the Disney channel makes her a happy girl. I'm hoping to remedy that.
