He knows I love Duran Duran, but what he didn't know is that "Rio" is my favorite album, and thats what the clip is all about. On November 4th, besides going to vote, I'm gonna make sure I stop by best buy and I pick up a copy of this. It's a documentary all about the making of the album "Rio". I can't wait to watch it.

I've seen a few of those "Ultimate Album" type shows and they are pretty cool, breaking down the songs into individual tracks. This looks like it could be a really cool video.

I love those types of documentaries too especially the rolling stone types who have some huge acid trip then wake up next to a pen and paper with a new song written lol those are the best, I have a feeling that duran duran is gonna be similar since they filmed alot of their music videos for rio in the jungle, they probably have some crazy stories about elephants and monkeys and cool footage of the jungle lol

Thats bad ass man! I'm a big fan of them as well, I saw them for the "Big Thing" tour back in Detroit, and they blew me away. I then saw them @ Inland Invasion '03, and on this last tour, and I was impressed with them still. Might be worth picking up.

Couple questions:

Is this a Best Buy exclusive? what else is on it? How long is it?

Just ordered for my Wife for her Birthday

Saw Duran earlier this year in Australia - amazing. Best concert I think I've ever attended... sound a bit dramatic I know.. but they were sensational.

Does anyone know if their latest album Red Carpet Massacre is worth checking out? I hear it was produced by Timbaland and i suppose that maybe just maybe it could possibly be a new interesting sound for them. i've even heard some people say it's a return to their classic 80's sound. But i've heard other people say it's very bad. Is it worth checking out?

Kathy, RCM is worth checking out but its not a return to their 80s sound definitely. Listen to it with an open mind & u will enjoy it[:D]

Just listened to some samples on all music guide. Have to admit it sounds pretty good. And I'm usually not a fan of the stuff produced by Timbaland.

Hey there
I have to admit I did not like RCM at all when I first listened. But.. do give it time. tracks like Falling down kind of feel like tracks such as Come Undone and Ordinary world, and other tracks like Skin Divers which are quite a bit more timbalandesque are ok once you get used to the change in production values.

I still prefer Astronaut personally out of the 2 newer albums (and would have preferred Astronaut even more if they had retained Virus as a legit track instead of Bedroom Toys!!!).

Kathy, i do feel Timbaland is an overrated producer & i dont give a hoot abt that Timberfake guy LOL.
If u are willing to be adventurous, i do recommend u pick up The Devils' Dark Circle(Nick Rhodes/Stephen Duffy), its a great cd.

TM, yes i do agree, Astronaut is definitely a better record than RCM. when the 5 of em togather, the chemistry was right on!

Just got the DVD today and in a word... IT ROCKS!

They really go into depth on the design, production, songwriting, and individual contributions to Rio. A lot of cool bonus material, too. If you love DD or Rio, this will be up your alley

Looking forward to the DVD. I also went to their concert earlier in the year and managed to score a front row seat! It was a fantastic concert. They were amazing! Loved their stint on the keyboards!
