Finally, those classic videos you grew up with are back! This time they are online in a searchable database with no commercials. The videos are embedible (see below) and include the videos that launched MTV back in the 80s.

"MTVMusic.com offers up a more in-depth library, including over 16,000 videos, "Unplugged" performances and exclusive MTV concert footage."

Oh happy day.

I'm sure they will be adding those videos eventually; I read that they are working on adding much more. It's been fun checking out the website as I've found a few things that I never saw on VH1 Classic when they were actually digging through the vaults a number of years back.

Plus, you can post videos onto Facebook/Myspace, etc directly from the site.

It irritates me that in order to see videos I have to go to a website and watch them at youtube video quality. It's so ridiculous that almost none of the "video music" channels play music. MTV and VH1 only really show reality and dating shows. MTV2 isn't much better. These channels should lose their classification as music channels and step out of the way so some real music channels can get onto cable and satellite systems. I find it funny that all the record companies just blame internet music sharing for the decline in music sales. They can't see that lack of music airplay on the "video" channels is a big factor in it. I discovered so many bands watching early MTV and later on watching 120 Minutes.

PS At least VH1 Classic still plays music

good for mtv, well, VH-1 has done a good job providing nostalgic videos...

This is pretty exciting. I hope their library continues to grow.
