This is a really good one,but I have a feeling which band is going to come out on top overall, and rightly so.No doubt about it,Ian and the boys wins hands down with me moreso than does Julian and his boys.So let's find out if most in here agree.Who do you all like better overall,Echo And The Bunnymen,or Teardrop Explodes?

Have to day Ian and the boys. I have been a fan ever since 1983. Ocean Rain is definitely one of my all-time favs.

Must we really choose over these two??? [8)] Uh, ok- of course, it's Echo & the Bunnymen just 'coz Ian McCulloch is my boyfriend (but he doesn't know it yet, so will somebody please inform him? [:p]).
I bought one of their latest albums "Evergreen"

One of the most interesting this-v-that yet popman, with Cope and McCullogh so intertwined in their early days. Cope was probably more inspiring and defining to the whole post-punk scene but McCullogh far more enduring. It's a toss-up...that's so lame, so

So many of my new wave era memories are connected to Echo and the Bunnymen songs that I have to vote for them over Teardrop Explodes.
"Fate Up Against Your Will" brings an immediate 80s flashback for me!

I too have lots of good memories tied to Echo and the Bunnymen. For me they are the quintessential 80's band.

Echo all the way....love their sound, and, as others have proclaimed, they are inextricably fused to the Best Musical Decade ever. "Never Stop" and "The Cutter" are the among the Classic New Wave tracks.
p.s. I'll have you know that millions of us stoo

Love both, but would be more likely to throw on an Echo lp right now than a Teadrop one.
(however, if you own a copy of Teardrop Explodes' 'Wilder', go back and listen to the last song " the Great Dominions". For my money, it's one of the most gorgeou

echo. "ocean rain" is one of the most gorgeous and moving works of the era- unequalled in lushness at the time except by some works by marc almond or mr. morrissey.

Tough one....
Very tough one.
I think pre band splits (bunnymen first time round) that the bunnymen win...
But post initial band splits Julian Cope wins hands down on anything the bunnymen or any associated band have done...
Yes I agree the Bunnymen r

I'd prefer the Bunnymen (with the complete original line-up) over Julian's band & "The Game" is one of my fave songs...It says something about my life!:)
cheers!

I really like Julian Cope solo. And when I dream by teardrop was really great. But as far as bands go echo was better than teardrop.
