Especially if it was random, to hear a kick-ass song you haven't heard in awhile really gets me going. If it's off a cd I made, not as much. Reading your post this morning got me fired up and I had the song in my head all day!

A Big Country anthem usually does it for me...I couldn't narrow it down to just one, but "Inwards" of the debut is a good start.

Like rotator, I would pick 808 State. "Pacific 707" puts me in the best mood ever.

Underworld - "Two Months Off"
Architect - "Pissed In the Morning" (contrary to the title, the song is actually quite lovely and not pissy at all)

Yes!!! That is one of the best U world tracks....I almost gave up on them after (most of - Beaucoup Fish). but this one kills

I've always liked Underworld, but never really considered myself a true fan. So when I saw them at Central Park last year, I didn't know half of the songs.

When "Two Months Off" got cued up and going, the audience went nuts. I was my first time hearing that song. The euphoria in the crowd was so...palpable, and the song just really summed up the night. Probably one of the best concert moments I've ever experienced.

I sometimes look up video snippets of "Two Months Off" from that show and I still get swept up emotionally by it.

Hey d_f, I put Underworld and Chemical Brothers in a similar bin. I get a lot of what you're talking about from the live "Star Guitar" video from Fuji Fest. There's some truly swept-up and pumped-up moments in it. Right at the start, you realize it's sampling New Order's "Temptation" for the intro - incredible. Then at about 1:40, the crowd realizes it's "Star Guitar" and gets totally jacked up again. Then finally when the meat of the song just thumps in at about 3:10, it's nothing short of a rush to see and hear a hundred thousand people going completely off. The YouTube audio can't do it justice - I highly recommend their DVD...

Of what Des. Fem. speaks .....dig the use of vocorder via guitar. (hey ! my band used to do that!....of course we had 40 people in the room , not 40,000)
