A bunch of club hits came through shuffle today and it got me thinking of my favorite songs to dance to back in the 80's clubbing days.
So here's a few from me:
1. Soviet Snow(Popstand Remix) this is my wife's fav song so I was out on the dance floor alot for this one!
2. Rigormortis(Transient Mix)
3. Looking From A Hilltop

Let's hear your favs

Always remember you are unique....just like everyone else.

Hmmm... Soo many come to mind.

This ooold thread pretty much covers all of my faves.[8D]

Yeah, but that thread had its last response two years ago. So many new members since then.

A few that come to mind are:
Uncertain Smile - The The
Kick In The Eye - Bauhaus
Alice - The Sisters Of Mercy
I Travel - Simple Minds
Pulse - Psychedelic Furs
Heaven - Psychedelic Furs (with my wife. It was our song)

Lots of hardcore in the slamdancing days. I actually broke my nose to "Pay To Cum" by Bad Brains.

We didn't sell a lot of records, but somehow we left an impression.

Does it seem like a funny song for couples?

We had the standard issue, big four:
Tainted Love - Soft Cell
Don't You Want Me - Human League
Blue Monday - New Order
Mony, Mony - Billy Idol
I know that may sound boring, but the clubs here did not play new wave except for one, and we were usually the only people on the dance floor.

I recall visiting a friend at Fredonia College and risking life & limb, running across a busy street because we heard "I Ran" playing in a club down the road. We ran in, jumped on the dance floor and left as soon as the song was done.

I have happy memories of dancing to these:

B-52's - Rock Lobster & Private Idaho
Adam Ant - Goody Two Shoes
Billy Idol - Dancing with Myself & Mony Mony
Housemartins - Happy Hour
The Vapors - Turning Japanese

Fairly standard stuff, but it all seemed unique, new and original at the time.

Well...just that...I'm seriously not trying to be funny or be a smart ass or anything like that...and I'm not trying to pick a fight or be a jerk...but for some reason I had in my head that you played for the other team...

...now I feel like a total moron. I wish I could point to a specific reason why I thought that. [xx(]

Ministry - Work For Love
New Order - Temptation
Classix Nouveaux - Is It A Dream
Cabaret Voltaire - Sensoria
Killing Joke - Eighties
Nitzer Ebb - Murderous
Front 242 - Headhunter
Renegade Soundwave - Cocaine Sex
Happy Mondays - WFL

Gruesome Twosome - Hallucination Generation

There are so many more. A better question for me would have been: What song made you sit down?

Not to worry. I can't tell you how many times I couldn't tell someone's gender by their I.D. or even their posts on this board. I guessed wrong a few times myself. No offense taken.
