Me thinks this is gonna get a whole lot worse until these vapid shallow dime a dozen post-Disney/American Idol cloned wannabes run through and shamelessly defile the lion's share of our beloved 80's music lexicon.

Um...that's the lead singer of the Pussycat Dolls, not a Disney clone or a wannabe.

I wonder if our parents absolutely despised the delicious cover version of the Supremes "You Keep Me Hanging On" by Kim Wilde in the 80s.

Whatever excitement I derived from this song is now gone forever.

Never really cared for that cover version, having found Kim's cover of the Motown classic to be a tired, formulaic and blatantly mainstream departure from her 'Kids in America' era material. [|)]

In retrospect, <a href="http://nl.youtube.com/watch?v=A6kZXsc2HBo&fmt=18" target="blank">this 2006 redo</a> she did with Nena may be marginally better, IMHO that is..[;)]

Sheridan and The Dolls manage to suck the life out of that and other 80s classics like "Tainted Love". At least Marc Almond gets some props here before they ruin his song.

I like Kim's remake. It shows a lot more bitterness than the original, and I think the song calls for it.
