While i like them both, and that would normally be MY answer, I also dig his solo stuff alot(w/Cuts You Up being my all time favorite PM song). But, I want to know what YOU guys think?

You like him better as a solo artist, or as a member of Bauhaus?

I gravitate towards Bauhaus' music more. While I liked [i]Love Hysteria[/i], I haven't felt the need to pick up other Peter Murphy albums. Like his singles, but not enough to buy 'em, I guess.

Saw their concert in 2005, and they were amazing. I guess I prefer the whole package.

Would it be terrible of me to say that I even prefer Love & Rockets over Peter Murphy?!?!

I'm all for Love and Rockets and Tones on Tail as well, but
getting to the subject, i love Peter's first solo album, but the rest bore me................so Bauhaus it is!

Bauhaus. I find solo Murphy kinda boring. A friend of mine fell asleep during a PM concert. I did my best to stay awake.

I like his solo stuff much better than Bauhaus

Bauhaus for me, too....but I liked Tones on Tail even more !

Bauhaus did nothing for me. I'll go with solo PM.

I would have to say Pete solo - I listen to his albums way more than Bauhaus, though I love that band as well. Deep is such a great album, with Love Hysteria a close second.

I'm a big fan of both, but I would have to say the Peter Murphy solo.

I'm kinda with kyxy4ever, even though that was'nt your original question, in so far as the '[b]Bauhaus[/b]ian product line goes:

Definitely Bauhaus. Stuff like "Terror Couple Kill Colonel", "Stigmata Martyr", "Kick In The Eye" and, of course, "Bela Lugosi's Dead" were efforts not duplicated by any of the members' bands while separate.
Don't get me wrong. I have Murphy's first three solo albums as well as most of Love and Rockets catalogue and probably everything that Tones On Tail released (and like them), but the sum, in this case, was better than the parts.

We didn't sell a lot of records, but somehow we left an impression.

Bauhaus is clearly the "more impressive" work, but if I had to just listen to one or the other forever, I'd likely stick with PM. Deep is a very good album and you can't listen to Bauhaus all day.

When Peter Murphy went solo, I actually thought that his cover of "Final Solution" sounded like that his solo years had a promising start, but when I heard his debut album (Should the World Fail to Fall Apart), I just was not into it as much. As for his albums after that, I did not hear much, and what I did was not really exciting to me to do further listening. Great voice, though, and it must be admitted that he did well to keep his style unique.

Dali's Car also had promise but still not that exciting to me, although "The Judgment is the Mirror" was good.
