First off, i trust you guys opinions, and I love your input. I've been really looking to add to my 80's goth music collection, and I'm having trouble finding some of the stuff/groups I really enjoy, and others want. I have the usual suspects(Cure/DM/Siouxsie/Bahaus/etc), but I'm looking for some of the lesser known groups, or groups that had maybe 1 -2 discs out that were goth, and so forth? maybe alot of you might know of some groups that I'm unaware of?

I have some stuff from:

Red Lorry yellow Lorry
Virgin prunes
Christian Death
Alien sex fiend and so forth.


Im loking for stuff thats (still in print) that i can possibly go buy, or specially order. I'd like to get some dark stuff as well.

For what it's worth, you should check out Stiff Kittens. They were from Driffield, U.K., and released 3 items (total of 8 songs). IMO all excellent stuff.

The vinyl will be next to impossible to find, and when it does appear, it usually goes for $50.00+.

I'm sure I have a CD-r that a guy in New Zealand sent me...let me know if you'd like a copy.

I think we already discussed The Sound as perhaps one of the more underrated bands, though not quite in the same league as The Chameleons.

How about Wasted Youth (the English goth band, not the California punk band)? Two albums of great stuff. If the records are oop (I'll have to check), I'd be happy to post some of their stuff.

Lesser known groups... okay. Instead of suggesting you some, first go here and have a look: http://www.deathrock.com/

New stuff reviewed there, but the part I want you to check out is a drop down menu at the top left corner: 'Bands Archives'. Each one of those bands are worth a listen, maybe not all will be your style (some are more punk some are more goth and from both sides of the Atlantic) but classic unmissable stuff anyway if you're into 80's postpunk / goth. Some of those bands are pretty obscure, but you can find cd reissues of many of them.
