Dare I Ask?

I decided this evening, it must be time for it, but can't find the thread. Is there going to be a top 100 for 2008? Life's been too crazy and chaotic I need this diversion to try to rank 100 new wave tracks, especially with Fred gone--it's important to point out there's more to new wave than People are People and Love Shack!

Are we developing any parameters; for example, am I bound by certain years or styles of music if I wrote my own top 100 list?

And for full disclosure, even though I once sang "Love Shack" in a karaoke bar with a couple of cute girls, I would not put it on the list.[:D]

Maybe he means Top 100 New Wave Songs of 2oo8. Crystal Castles, Cut Copy, Late of the Pier? Or perhaps just songs you discovered this year? Either way, my list is at http://AlfInYoMouf.com

If Waldorm means an updated NWO Top 100 new wave songs list, I'm willing to compile it if you're all willing to submit a list. I still have all the Excel files. We didn't do 100 songs but rather just 50 per person, which is hard enough. What I did was take the last of the 3 previous polls and took the most up-to-date submission if for example people didn't submit one each time. As before it's easiest to submit songs in a rigid format - numbered and separated by hyphens like so...

1. Song Name - Artist Name
2. Song Name - Artist Name
etc.

Some previous threads were...

http://nwoutpost.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=22167 for the summary results

http://nwoutpost.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=21823 was the 2007 edition
http://nwoutpost.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=15492 was the 2006 one
http://nwoutpost.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=4339 was Freewave's original 2005 one

Count me in, Blir!

We didn't sell a lot of records, but somehow we left an impression.

Yes, I meant the NWO of 2008-- I don't think I can list at most ten songs I liked that came out in 2008, by comparison. :P I feel like this decade is at times "the lost decade" with Britney and boy bands. :P
