I guess this could have gone under the NNNW section just as easily but...
Does anyone know of a good website that has a fairly comprehensive list of actual release dates of recordings? I know rateyourmusic has some of these, but I was looking for something more detailed.
Any help would be appreciated!

We didn't sell a lot of records, but somehow we left an impression.

I have been looking for these too. I believe I had a post about this a while ago. Rateyourmusic said that they might have that data in the future.

The Library of Congress.

Click on "Search the catalog," type the name of the album in the "Search for" box, leave the "Search by" option defaulted to "Title," and click the "Begin search" button. (You can also hit the enter key in lieu of "Begin search.") If the search gives you more than one page of listings, scroll through them via the "previous" and "next" buttons. If there's a ton of listings, you'll want to reorder them sequentially by year. Go to the "resort results by" button, and click either "date (ascending)" (for oldest date first) or "date (descending)" (most recent date first). When you find what you're looking for, click on the blue hypertext link, and eventually you'll find a record which gives the "date of publication." There you go.

Note that their dates are often off, although I'd say more than half the time they are correct -- at least as far as month and year. But there are definitely plenty that are not even close.
