Along with the regular release of "Yes" on March 23rd, there'll be a double-CD release including a bonus CD which Pet Shop Boys have titled "etc."

The first track on it is a new Tennant/Lowe song, produced by Xenomania, called "This used to be the future", which features vocals by Neil, Chris and guest vocalist Philip Oakey from The Human League. The other six tracks on "etc." are instrumental dub mixes by Xenomania and Pet Shop Boys of tracks from "Yes". (The inspiration for this bonus album came from The Human League's 1982 dub album, "Love and Dancing".)

Can't wait. My favorite band!

I have been meaning to take some time to reevaluate their most recent album Fundemental, which I admit to only having listened to once (it took me a couple of minutes to even remember the title!). How has it aged with you other PSB fans?

Either way, I will give it another chance before the new album comes out. I do think some songs off Release (2002) have aged nicely BTW.

OK, am I the only one who thinks Neil's voice is just so damned AGELESS?!?

You know the remixes that are gonna come out of this will just own all. I say we temporarily rename the New Wave Outpost the Pet Shop Outpost for the rest of the year in honor of this superior band. Who's with me? PET HEADS UNITE!!! [8D]

Agreed on the voice. It couldn't be more perfect for their style of music, and it still sounds great.

Fundamental is my least favorite album of theirs. There are a couple of great tunes, but I found the rest of the album lacking. I've listened to it a few times, but have not returned to it. I think I'll follow your lead and break it out.

As far as Release is concerned, I think it holds up quite nicely. There are a couple of songs that I don't like as much as the others, but overall I think it's a terrific record.

As mentioned in another thread, Release made for a fantastic live show didn't it (at least based on the LA concert at Universal)!

I wonder if they will tour the new album?

There are 2 shows scheduled in June in England at this point.

I hope the Phil Oakey track sounds good. Usually, when a lead singer of another band sings as a guest artist, it turns out not sounding right. But this being the PSB, I have high hopes.

Neil's voice is ageless. It's so great that were recognized with equivalent to legendary band award at the Brit Awards. Boy, this means we're getting old.

"Fundamental" is the best PSB I've heard since the early '90s. I hope Xenomania lives up to it. I'll always like Phil Oakley for old time's sake. I loved Human League until the "Crash" album, which wasn't really Human League so much as the HL name used as a front for Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis.
