I'm not sure if anyone here uses bit-torrent, or if I'm even allowed to mention it here, but there are many many volumes of compilations called the rare hits of the 80s and they're quite good.

Been downloading them a lot. All of my favorite stuff is there! Stuff I can only find in used record shops.

Best part is, they sound like they're from vinyl records so there's very little, if any, dynamic compression and the quality is good for the most part.
