So I've written a couple of blog entries concerning the somewhat ridiculous dancing that has transpired in ye old New Wave music videos. (
http://alfinyomouf.com/?p=574 and
http://alfinyomouf.com/?p=597)
I wanna continue writing about this largely ignored phenomenon. What New Wave dancing moves do you guys remember? Dave Gahan's "helicopter twirl"? Richard Butler's baggy shenanigans in the video for The Furs' "Ghost In You"?
The politics of dancing hilariously!

It's THRILLING! It's GLORIFICENT! It's the best thing to happen to the Internet since the New Wave Outpost! Click away and taste unbridled euphoria!

I especially love the chicken strut at 3:14.

Dancing in new wave videos sometimes turned me away from the groups that had them.
I'd rather watch them standing there instead of flailing about like some retarded emu.

How can I forget about Ian Curtis' on-stage convulsions! Egad!

Depending on what circles you travel, I believe it's either called the "Maritime Signaling Flag Dance" or the "Fake Invisible Nunchuck Dance".

How about those videos with the so-called "hot" chicks dancing in them???
Check this classic out:

I love the dancing in these videos:
Planet Earth – Duran Duran (Simon’s dance as well as the couple’s dance)
To Cut A Long Story Short – Spandau Ballet (The lesbian couple dancing)
Let’s Go To Bed – The Cure (Leo Tolhurst’s dance)
Visions In Blue – Ultravox (The lesbian dance)
The Chauffer – Duran Duran (The lesbian dance again)
Mad World – TFF (The Orzabal as Glokstadt mentioned)
People Are People – DM (Dave’s dance which I think has been copied over and over again)
Ashes To Ashes – David Bowie (I’m not sure if you can call it dancing but when those New Romantics are walking with Bowie)
West End Girls – The Pet Shop Boys (Chris’ little catch up to Neil dance although it only lasts for a few seconds)
Visage – Visage (All of the cool moves that Steve Strange does in the video, not sure if it’s dancing but it’s awesome)
Sometimes – Erasure (Andy’s not so great dance on top of the roof but fun to watch)
Around My Heart – Sandra (Not sure if too many of you have seen this video but Sandra has some great steps in here)
A Beat For You – Pseudo Echo (The whole band kind of does this cool dance as they are performing this video, one of my all time favorites)
