These guys when put together produced nothing but gems. Awesome new wave pop music. Such great stuff. ANyone else know of this phenominon?

Sure some poppy stuff like Limahl - Neverending Story came out of it.
But there was this one Moroder album in 1983 called Solitary Men.

The gems from this are as such:
Diamond Lizzy
Too hot to touch.

WONDERFUL songs.

But does anyone else know of this style though?..or of anything else these guys have put together. They did some work in the very early 80s that was more wave oriented with some strange synth noizes.

Try Giorgio Moroder's E=MC2 album from 1980. It's probably what you're looking for.

His earlier material is classic disco. He also did quite a few soundtracks, including Midnight Express, Cat People, Metropolis, and Flashdance.

Moroder also did;

Produced Sigue sigue sputnik
Berlin's-Take my breath away
Blondie's-Call me
Bowie's-Putting out the fire
Kenny Loggins-Dangerzone

But Cat People is a good album.
David Bowies would-be hit song is on there.

And "Night Rabbit" is really creepy.
I listened to it...but I have yet to see the movie. I hae an image of the movie built up already, and I heard that the movie was not cool (from the IMDB). So Im not sure if I am ready to see it. The soundtrack is very cool.

Don't forget the albums Forsey did with Billy Idol, or the ones Moroder produced for Sparks, Nina Hagen and Phil Oakey. I'd kill for a CD reissue of the "Battlestar Galactica" concept album he did.

Giogio Morodor did an excellent song in the 60's called "STOP".

Oh come on... I'm not a fan of disco at all but "I Feel Love" is a great song.

I really like the influence Moroder had on Sparks, and what the Mael brothers did with his sound.

Giogio Moroder also did an album where he had equal billing with Phil Oakey (i.e. the album was by Phil Oakey and Giorgio Moroder) it was called, strangely enough "Philip Oakey & Giorgio Moroder" and it had that great track "Goodbye Bad Times". I wish I could get the video for that song.

If you like 'I Feel Love', also try the second Munich Machine record - the one with a naked woman dancing with two robots on the rather futuristic-looking, silver-white front cover (yes, [i]A Whiter Shade of Pale[/i]!). Same style, really catchy beats with female vocals. An early electro classic [8D]

Remember "Underdog"? I believe one of his first tracks recorded, rock based (not a new wave/dance type song).

What details do you have about it? Im all curious...

I met Giorgio Moroder along with Tom Moulton, David Morales and Frankie Knuckles at the Billboard Dance Music Summit last September. The four of them were sitting on a panel discusing the state of dance music today, sharing their experiences...it was fucking brilliant. Danny Tenaglia was in the audience. I also met Jellybean Benitez and Tiesto along with some other dance music artists. Awesome week, awesome.
