I have to check this out when I get home. Good idea Cadman on the new section. I've heard a lot of good as well as bad cover versions of 80's songs in commercials. Be nice to have a section so we can identify the new artists that are good. My favorite cover band is the West End Girls and of course you guys know who they cover. [8D]

Personaly I think cover songs are the worst way to go about searching for good new bands. Anyone who realy tries could learn to copy something that already exists, and chalk the inconsistancies or changes up to 'stylistic diferences'. In fact I'm sick of bands both old and new useing covers and samples as some sort of crutch. Write your own damn music and lyrics, lazy bastards.

Don't get me wrong... I can apreciate a good tribute or someone puting their own spin on a song because they just love it that much... but when it's done to make money or released as a single, it does hurt my opinion of the musician or band in question.


I mean realy, if this was fine art we were talking about, would you take a galery full of copies seriously?
