Split Enz on the big screen

Okay, not exactly the big screen. More like direct to DVD. I'm watching one of my many horror movies tonight, a 2000 film called "CUT", and it stars none other than Molly Ringwald. And leave it to Molly to make sure a movie she stars in has at least one new wave song in it. During a shower scene, she is singing along to the radio..."I Got You" by Split Enz.
Meanwhile, Kylie Minogue even had a small part in the film. I was hoping she would break into "The Locomotion," but alas, it didn't happen.

Molly was cool. I would love it if a reissue label put out a two-cd compilation featuring all of the new wave songs from her various 80s movies. Of course, I suppose I could make one myself...

When I worked at Universal, I had proposed exactly that, and the process was started, but I think licensing issues prevented it.

Oh well, at least you tried! I'll have to search some old threads; I seem to recall a list of the songs that could have been on such a soundtrack.
