Comment from the IMBD:

With little fanfare, WB have announced a DVD release of URGH! A MUSIC WAR, as part of their internet-only Warner Archive label. As such, it will only be shipped to U.S. buyers, and will be a no-frills release (some titles include a trailer, but I don't think one was ever made for URGH), but it will be 16x9. The info page lists a 116 minute running time, which is longer than the commercial theatrical release, but shorter than the original VHS release, which suggests that some performances may be cut. Rumor has it that the rights to the Gary Numan performance of "Down in the Park" reverted back to it's director, and has been cut from recent HDNet broadcasts of the film, so that may account for the difference. Supposedly, relations between the former members of Dead Kennedys are so terrible that they would not sign off on any new licensing for previous work, so that may be gone too. I hope there will be a detailed announcement from WB sometime soon on this matter.

Considering Gary's is one of my favorite performances, I'll hold on to my VHS original that's complete.

It was a good call to leave her off the soundtrack. I'd advise the same for the DVD. I really wouldn't miss Chelsea, Jon Otway, and Skafish either.

it wasn't a decision to keep her off the soundtrack;
Copeland wanted her for America but couldn't secure a deal with her
home base UK label,Safari Records...
and I understand that she is on the new DVD...we'll see

Bummer that these aren't metal stamped DVD's. Instead they are DVD-R's. Oh well, I have to see this movie again, my tape broke years ago.... I can at least burn it to my computer.

Sure would be nice if they restored it properly,added never released concert footage,and offered in blu-ray format. I know..that's asking a lot !

Watched it last night. Splogeness is the only one that's cut. Numan and Toyah are included.
I thought the widescreen picture was fine and the sound was very good, too.

Just finished watching my copy - it's good! Yes, it is a DVD-R, and there are no chapter stops (just basic 10-minute ones accessed with the forward or back buttons), but the sound and picture are both very good. There is a trailer included as well.

Yeah, this part is kinda hard to figure. So basically, they might have taken a high-quality master tape, run it to a production recorder with the basic chapter-creation function on 'on' and hit 'record'. Christ, how fucking difficult is to place chapter markers?

Yeah, it looks good and it is the best sounding of any version so far! But now I am pissed cuz I can't burn this puppy onto my computer. It says it won't play on any computers and DVD-R's. And they wonder why we lift stuff off the internet for free. Basically I just spent 25 bucks on a DVD-R bootleg done by the record company. Oh well... I'm movin on from this experience.
