Anyone remember these guys? They had that one big hit "I beg your pardon" (Which BTW was a great new wave dance tune and one of the best of it's era) And a couple of other songs that got radio/club play. With that said does anyone know what the other songs on their albums sounded like? From what I've read they had three albums between 1989-1993. Were their albums any good or worth checking out? Sad to see they faded into obscurity.

Their first album had a couple of songs that were sort of New Orderish like I Beg Your Pardon, including Bite the Bullet. But the album jumped around in sounds, kind of reminding me of Information Society, who are like part late 80s alternative dance and part freestyle. And of course it had the club hit cover of these boots are made for walking. Their second album Syntonic was a combination of late 80s house and Miami freestyle with the new wavish droning male vocalist sharing vocals with a female--a lot. The songs were very commercial and sing-song. If they recorded any albums after that I don't know, because I really had no interest in hearing anything more after the second album.

Their first album is ok and worth picking up if you can get it cheap. 'I Beg Your Pardon' and 'These Boots Were Made For Walking' were the biggies on it and the rest wasn't bad, just nothing special.

I haven't heard their second album but judging by the review on AMG I'm not missing much.

I used to hang out with the engineer of their first album and helped remix a few of his own tracks. I used to like their first album, not so much their other two.

I was able to find their first disc here @ a pawn shop for .50 cents, pretty good deal if you ask me. As everyone else has said, IBYP, and TBWMFW are the two standouts on it, it's a fine album, and the price was definitely right.

I knew this VERY VERY smokin hot girl(who looked like Cindy Crawford), who used to looovvvveeeeee "I Beg Your Pardon". When I dj'd back then, I'd always play it for her, as I enjoyed watching her dance to it(and just in general). Cool song, loved it when it came out. One of those songs that you never get sick of hearing.

Barry Harris, one of the 2 members of Kon Kan is still a big time dance music producer. He is now one half of Thunderpuss 2000. His biggest hit a few years ago was "dive in the pool".

actually, Thunderpuss called it quits about 5 years ago. Chris Cox still does a lot of remixes, but I haven't seen much of Barry Harris.

I know that the guy who engineered the song never wants to hear it again, although he likes the royalty cheques that come from you guys wanting to hear it...lol

Ill bet the engineers of :Macarena and Come On Eileen feel the same way? but dont mind the royalty checks coming in the mail?

The only other track I have being fairly good club fare (IMO) is the Justin Strauss remix of 'Harry Houdini'

Funny.. in retrospect, how influential New Order was given the Barney Sumneresque inspired vocalizations and other elements evident in BYP.
