Rockets! Rockets! Would you consider them to be new wave? I think their music is killer, very exciting and really good synth. It's a thrill a second, kind of reminds me of the Thompson Twins at times. I'm in the process of trying to listen to all their albums so I will let you know when I'm finished. Mad, Bad, & Dangerous to Know is a killer album if you've ever tried that one.

Pete Burns was determined to record 'disco punk', and I think he succeeded, because that's pretty much what their music is. Of course, it's also hi-nrg, but his harsh vocals give it the edge that keeps it from being like most of the other commercial Stock Aitken Waterman productions.

That's a good analysis. I could see the hi-nrg label on dead or alive, some really good and edgy hi-nrg lol.

IMO: DoA was more dance club fare than New Wave. However, WLIR/DRE gave them plenty of airplay since many of their tunes also carried well on the radio.
As much as find their music appealing, I found Pete Burns to have an atrocious live stage persona as evidenced by 2 aborted area club gigs witnessed over the years.[B)]
