^^ LMAO. Good one. I think she stayed in the limelight a little too long, causing her skin to become all leathery.

the first one was cute;
the second is just dumb...
and besides, I'd swear that's Annie Lennox before makeup

Cute? Mmm, no, I'm pretty sure "cute" isn't an adjective one would use to describe Toyah. Not then, certainly not now.

28 years on and I STILL have a huge crush on Kim Wilde!

Why is Toyah so picked on here? Great LP's and singles and an AMAZING visual style throughout the 80's. I love her and own quite a bit of stuff.

she's picked on by a handful of morons who never heard of her, because she was only an iconic,decades spanning star in the UK,from whence the 'new wave' originated, her label, Safari, never made the effort to get a deal in USA and she never performed a single show here, ever..
Miles Copleland tried to negotiate with her label,he wanted to bring her here, he thought she'd be huge ,THAT'S why she was included in "Urgh! A Music War", a film top heavy with other Copeland acts..he was hoping she would become one..
and I place more faith in Miles Copeland's opinion than the opinion of a handful of morons;
the handful of morons only know what MTV fed them: Duran, Blondie, Boy George, Annie Lennox, etc and they're so proud of their abilty to listen to top 40 radio station and watch MTV,and then regurgitate the propaganda..
they revel in their ignorance;
but,as I said,it's only a handful of morons...
so be proud,be loud, be heard

If they only know some of her hit singles then that could be the result of some of the negative comments. As much of a fan as I am, I will admit her best known songs are a put off. Listen deeper, and with an open mind, and you will appreciate her. She's still one of my top faves. Though she never had a record deal in the U.S. in the early 80's, Thunder In The Mountains did get light rotation on MTV here back in the day, then on VH1 Classic early in this decade. Though her most recent album only had 3 songs that made it to my iPod, her voice is still "Sensational".
