I would gladly sacrifice all of the music of the 80's if it meant the song Victims of the Riddle, Thunder in the Mountains, I Want to Be Free, It's a Mystery, Don't Fall in Love (I Said), Ieya, Bird in Flight, Moonlight Dancing, The Vow, Rebel Run, Soul Passing Through Soul and/or Be Proud Be Loud Be Heard was never written, recorded or heard by anyone ever.

and, since you didn't mention them I assume you love superhits like "Brave New World"(the opening of which was borrowed by U2 for "Bullet The Blue Sky" a few years later; same producer; Steve lilywhite) and the crown jewel of "Urgh!", "Danced"...

To return to the true intent of the thread, I would have to say Lionel Richie's "Hello" (followed closely by that "Don't Worry Be Happy" song).

Was Lionel Richie really so huge in the early 80's? And a sex symbol...with that cheesy moustache and terrible afro??? He was one ugly mofo.

The video for "Hello" clinched it, with Lionel making the moves on a blind chic...yes, a BLIND chic! Maybe because she didn't realize what an ugly cheesball he was.

Isn't the thought of sacrificing all the 80's songs so that an 80's song was never written somewhat redundant? If you sacrificed all of the music from the 80's, then any song from the 80's that you hate enough to make the subject would also be sacrificed with the rest of the 80's music.

Oh, get out. You didn't hear that song till 2 or 3 years ago, and it was never played enough anywhere to be the bane of anyone. It's just a bad song with worse lyrics.

I wouldn't sacrifice all the 80s music just to get rid of a couple of songs. What would I listen to? 70s stuff? Nah.

Don't know about that, there were some great bands around like Ducks Deluxe, The Rumours, Kraftwerk, Landscape, Yachts as well as the punk
scene and the emergence of power pop and synthpop.

Look, I know 'Welcome to the Monkey House' should of been a big hit. It's a great track and deserved a lot more than it got, but to take it out on us with Hayzee Fantayzee is just being a little bit vindictive and nasty. We're sorry, ok?
