I saw the video last evening on NBC's opening ceremony for the Olympics. While the chorus sounded decent, the new version doesn't have the flow of the original IMO.

That said, maybe the younger listeners will adopt this as their version, and cheers to that.

The first version is one of the worst songs ever recorded.
If you celebrities want to help out, send money. DON'T

I agree with that. When Celine Dion is the best thing about your song you know you're in trouble.

Brian Wilson and Al Jardine are in the video at the end. Nice to see them but I guarantee that outside of Tony Bennett and Barbra Streisand they had no idea who any of these people were.

And bust all you want on Celine Dion, like her recordings or not, she is one of the most phenomenal vocalists we've had in decades...well, the most phenomenal vocalist who hasn't had any 'issues' rob her of her voice.

Some things in history shouldn't be repeated. This song was bad enough the first time around.
