Altrok Radio - Now There's An App For That, Too.

Postby hubcity » Sat Feb 13, 2010 5:32 am

Folks,

You may (I hope) remember Altrok Radio, which plays lots of tracks from 1981 to 1991, all the tracks that influenced those, and all of today's tracks that are influenced by that decade...

(deep breath)

...and now we've got an app for your iPhone or iPod Touch, if you're so inclined. So if you wanna hear your New Order, Depeche Mode, XTC, and Echo & The Bunnymen in between your Arctic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand, Kaiser Chiefs and...um...Echo & The Bunnymen, you can do so on your iPhone over the cell network, or over WiFi with either iPhone or iPod Touch.

We miss FM106.3, WLIR, WPIX (the one Squeeze namechecked) and we sound like it.

Incidentally, it's a new, commercial-free iteration of Altrok Radio you'll be listening to, and if you pay close attention to the app's icon, there's a Big Secret that gets given away. So you get in on that. Which is nice.

We're calling this bubbling cauldron "Deep Alternative" now, so if you're game for that, grab the app. Search the App Store for "Altrok Radio" and pull it down - I think you might be happy you did.
