I was wondering how many people here are fans of this band?


IMO their first three and only albums were some of the best the early 80s had to offer. It's a shame they never got any wide recognition in the States. My favorites by them are Waves and Don't Tell Me.

My picks would be "Blind Vision" and Abba cover "The Day Before You Came" Great band. They have their official Myspace.

Yes, popreactor and eighties. My favorite at the moment is the Don't Tell Me - 1984 video, second favorite play is The Day Before You Came vid - 1984, third tie Blind Vision - 1983 and Living on the Ceiling - 1982 (long version).
When is Blancmange going to do a release of their videos and music in a collection remastered? Waiting patiently.

Yep. Big fan of Blancmange.

Almost went to see then in 82/83ish - but they cancelled. Very disappointing to say the least.

My favourite tracks are Living On The Ceiling, Feel Me & Lorraine's My Nurse.

Blind Vision & Don't Tell Me are pretty cool too.

Thanks for the video. Nice to get one in decent quality. Hmm, think my friend had a compilation VHS with Blancmange on it ...

I'm enough of a fan to have bought the remastered CDs, and a lot of their 12"es and such. Got into them when I heard "That's Love That It Is" on "London Sampler", a label sampler, released in Canada, that was priced as a 7" single. (Again, music labels stopped coming up with ideas like this many, many years ago.)

Hmm, I guess the London Sampler was originally a UK release, and the Canadian distributor followed suit:

Blancmange will join Faithless on their new album for a remake of "Feel Me"

The 12" version of "Don't tell me" is actually pretty bloody good, as are most of their commercial releases. For anyone who really didn't get into them back in the day, they are worth a second look.

I have "Happy Families" and "Believe You Me" on vinyl. I got them at the time but I've only listened to them once.

Nice to find a forum with a thread about one of mu favourite 80s bands Surprised (and thrilled) that they have sort of reunited, even if it's taken them forever to actually produce a release. Anyone know how the recordings are going, since their website doesn't give much away?

They have plans to release an album and do some live shows towards the end of the year

My favourite album of theirs has always been 'Believe You Me'. Granted, it doesn't have the stand out tracks like Blind Vision or Living on the Ceiling as the other albums do, but it's the best overall album they released. My favourite track from it is 'John', a sad but beautiful track which seemed to be the band's way of saying 'thanks for the good times and the memories and we'll see you all later'.
