Yes, I know that Thompson Twins and Tears For Fears dont really fit into the same music genre but me & my friend were just talking about it the other day. Please choose your vote *MUSIC WISE*. I mean, vote by the songs *you* like. Please only vote in your opinion!!!!!

.. not _SUCH_ a bad question - at least on a personal preference level. Same era, and they both featured highly in charts and my collection at the time, and the collections of family and friends.

Voted T4F personally, as IMO they produced more songs that stand up to the test of time. Plus they are still around the place.. saw them earlier this year in fact - they were great.

I do remember when my wife and I moved in together and I merged our vinyl collections, her Thompson Twins and Duran Duran fought with my T4F and INXS for a while ;-)

Ew, Im sorry but I dont like INXS, but I do have to say, I hate the Cure the most. I mean INXS is cool I guess, I like Need You Tonight. In my opinion Thompson Twins were better just because their songs had alot of good hooks, they were very experimental, and I love TFF but sometimes there music just sounds really bland to me. I can never listen to "Shout" all the way through, it gets old. But if you think about it, so TFF is still around, big deal. I understand why TT wont tour or anything because that magic wouldnt be there after all these years,ya know? I just think TT was way better. They have more songs to be remembered by, and they dont have bland songs like "Shout". Everyone of there songs are full of meaning and creativity. T4F is good, really, they are, I love em,but TT is my fave.
PS, I love Duran Duran too!

I wouldn't choose either over the other. TFF did have the outstanding "Woman in Chains" though.

Kind of ironic, coming from someone who says that TT's songs "are full of meaning and creativity."

Something about the other posts tells me which band you would pick. Something also tells me you are on an anti-Tears For Fears campaign. Hmm, I think you may have been on here before.

I have 15 Tears For Fears songs in my itunes, but just 6 Thompson Twins songs, so that speaks pretty clearly which band I prefer to listen to more often.

I did see OMD open for Thompson Twins in concert (12/1/85) at Public Hall in downtown Cleveland, OH and it was a great show... I have not managed to see TFF yet, hopefully someday.

I also remember driving around the summer of 1985 with Songs from the Big Chair on constant repeat play in the cassette deck of my car.
