as per the comment section by the person who posted the video:

"For some years I start to make my own "Extended
Mixes" and "Video Remixes" :) here is one of
my favorite Group ... Dead or Alive .. have Fun :)"

So it sounds like that's a homebrewed mix. Essentially it seems like it was edited on computer software using the original 12" mixes (definitely the US mix, possibly parts of the UK 12" mix)

Oh, thank you. It sounds to, how do i say this, uh, it sounds to good to be a home made mix. Well its a good mix anyway, props to the maker.
So the US Mix is also a 12" mix right?

yes. the US 12" mix is amazing. I prefer it to the UK 12" mix. I'm not sure if the UK got serviced more than one 12" though, so the mix on the US 12" may have been released in the UK as well. The US remix is on the Retro Active 5 CD. now I want to pull both versions and compare them since I haven't listened to the UK mix in a while.

Hey New Wave Kid,

I pulled out the Evolution: The Hits CD from Dead or Alive, and it appears the version of Lover Come Back To Me on that CD is the version this guy used for this video, so he didn't mix it himself. I've always assumed this was the UK 12" version, but on the Evolution CD, it is edited down by about 25 seconds, so it only runs 5 minutes instead of 5:25. They've actually just cut out some of the repetition of the chorus in the last 45 seconds. The length of the song on that video coincides with information on discogs.com for some releases of the 12" in Europe.

Thank you! I knew it sounded too good to be home made. Since we're on Evolution:The Hits CD,This CD includes the 12" of Brand New Lover right?

I have the two disc version of Evolution, and it does not have the 12" of brand new lover:

http://www.amazon.com/Evolution-Spec-De ... roduct_top

It does have the US Wipeout 12" mix of My Heart Goes Bang--faded 15 seconds early! There are a couple of other 12" mixes on here, but they all seem to be slightly edited (my review is in the amazon reviews on that page, where I outline mix issues).

The Dust Monkey's Love Bubble Mix of brand New Lover is on "Club Epic 5" which you can probably pick up very cheap used on amazon. And the Up Ducky Mix (the second mix on the US 12") is on the CD MightyREAL A Dance Floor Perspective 1980 - 1988: The Queen's Music 1, and I believe it's also on the forthcoming Retro Active 7 CD.

Wow really? That's weird, I downloaded Brand New Lover from itunes from the Evolution album, and it wasnt the normal version, so then I looked up Brand New Lover mixes on youtube and the video I found of the version I had was labeled 12".

Are you sure this isnt on the CD?

that's not from the US 12" if it only runs 5 minutes. The phenomenal dust monkey love bubble mix runs like 9 minutes, and the Up Ducky Mix runs over 6 minutes. I'll have to listen to the Evolution version. 5 minutes is really not that long, and not much longer than the album version. I wonder if it's the version used for the "Rip It Up" CD without the segue into the next track.
