There is so much that can be said about album covers, some like them plain, some with band on the cover, some where it tells a story.

Roger Dean cover fron the progressive era show a lot of artistic flair and imagination , see--->

There was also the Hipgnosis, Storm Thorgerson and Aubrey "Po" Powell, with thier simple masterpiece Dark Side Of The Moon,

For shock appeal what about Grand Funk's Survival http://tralfaz-archives.com/coverart/G/ ... vival.html

The New Wave has some classics Joy Divisions Closer, The 3D of The Stranglers' The Raven, Midnight Oils Red Sails In The Sunset.

The above are favourites of mine what are yours? Can you supply links?

Definitely Midnight Oil's "Red Sails In the Sunset"
Very striking depiction of Sydney Harbor after being hit by meteors.
