I did a search and did not find any thing regarding this subject, so I apologize if it has been discussed in the past. What is the best way to store records? On the side? Laying flat, stacked on top of each other? In an air conditioned room? In a humidifier? In its original plastic sleeve inside the cardboard cover with a plastic protector over it?

These are the things I heard; for all I know, they could be urban myths:
Records are to be stored standing up, not laying flat (although, when they were stored at warehouses and such, they were flat stacked upon each other. The outer rim of the record w
