Gary Numan inspired many who came after him.Some great images associated with his music.....but also some real garbage in later times!
Kraftwerk,Toyah,Spandau,Blondie,Roxy Music,Devo also make the grade.
Nothin' beats New Wave ...

I'd have to agree with this if we're talking strictly New Wave and not 80's music in general. Toyah in particular took the punk look and expanded on it so that it was something else. I think that look was explored and tweaked by many others well into the 80's. Adam and the Ants were very similar in that they took the punk look and when nuts with it.
Numan just copied the cold Kraftwerk look. He did appeal to a lot more mainstream tastes though.
