Sorry this is more rock-aor here...
But does anyone know chart positions of his solo work in US or other countries? I was looking at wikipedia, and it seems much of his solo work did not chart, or charted rather low. Kinda hard to believe, considering some of it was on Miami Vice.

I was also looking at his wiki article on Frida's "There is something going on" and it says it had elements of Cure - Other Voices in the drum arrangement? Interesting, something I did not know, is it really that close? [:D]

There is a similarity in the rhythm PATTERN, but I think that's as far as the comparison goes. Anyway, that's a typical Phil Collins drum arrangement...almost identical to Adam Ant's "Puss 'n Boots" (or, sped up slightly, "Strip.")

Wow, I'm surprised to see Russ Ballard charted so low. I always liked him.

While undeniably a great songwriter, Russ never really had the "it" factor. He also never really seemed to have much promotion at either label.

I always thought "Two Silhouettes" should have been huge. Wish I still had the video on tape.

Russ Ballard started with prog/hard rock band Argent in late 60's,but he also was an important songwriter for the glitter pop scene of mid 70's,having as one of his best songs,the chart topper''New York Groove''with the British band Hello.

Wasn't Russ from Unit 4 Plus 2 As well?
