Best Neil Young "Like a Hurricane" cover?

Postby Frau_Blucher » Tue Jan 11, 2005 7:19 am

Yup, I know this is a New Wave forum but see my choices. Any opinions about this monument to rock and roll? Here's some 1-2min samples below to help. I'm sure there's tons of other covers and additional suggestions are welcome. My only regret is that I couldn't find the Marie Osmond version online!

Roxy Music - goes surprisingly well:

The Mission UK - maybe my fav, reeealy rocks:

Heather Nova - kinda simpish:

With Pearl Jam - not really a cover I guess:

Another not really a cover, the classic live version with Crazy Horse for comparison - anybody wanna loan me some new ear drums?:

I saw the Mission U.K. do their version live at the old Ritz in NY and it was the highlight of the show. They really tore it up. It gets my vote.

Please tell me there is NOT a Marie Osmond version of any Neil Young song. I have every album of his until Live Rust.

NOOOOO!!! She has a song called Like A Hurricane but it's not a Neil Young cover. Here are the lyrics:

Baby, the girls want to know about you,
they want to know what you do to make me so crazy.
'Cause lately, they see how I've turned around,
my feet

Phew! That's a relief...although I had a sick desire to hear a Marie Osmond cover [}:)]
