Not afraid to admit it..I'm a huge George Michael fan and love his music from the 80's!

ahhh really? i thought he was much better after he went solo haha.
he's re-issuing his album faith tomorrow as an incredible box set..now you can't complain about that album! he had like 6 number 1 hits off of it!

there already was a topic here somewhere recently about GM....

but speaking about UK 80's R&B/Funk, personally I like Loose Ends a bit more, anyone remember them?
also Imagination (remember Just and Illusion), awesome campy UK band from the 80's [:D]

When I think about 80s music that has held up and aged well, "Faith" doesn't come to mind. It was hot as hell when it came out but there's nothing from it I would want to hear now.

The ballads are emotionally overwrought (at the time, he was competing with Michael Bolton for most bombastic, grandiose vocal), the upbeat songs are played out. Do you really want to hear "I Want Your Sex" for the eight billionth time?

That leaves the album cover and GM's Miami Vice inspired stubbly look and Madonna inspired crucifix ear ring. Good for throwing darts at.

Wham! at least still has value as a cheesy guilty pleasure.

I will have to disagree. It is a pretty good R&B-dance album.... especially when you compare it to things like for example Lionel Richie's Dancing on the Ceiling, you realize how good GM's Faith was. [:D]

I think him coming out in part caused his popularity in US to dwindle in the 90's... kinda sad. Sometimes I think I can listen to GM sing the phonebook, the man can sing...

wow. I haven't ordered the remastered faith yet, which I specifically want for disc 2 bonus tracks, but someone who reviewed it on amazon totally trashed the sound quality...actually, kinda trashed the entire album as well...
