so who is your favorite?
were there any that had a New Wave type of sound?
I think Al Corley had a NW type of sound on Square Rooms, I really like it [:D]
from the mainstream, Don Johnson's Heartbeat has always been a guilty pleasure of mine... it's so over-the-top and so 80's [:D]
also Patsy Kensit of Eighth Wonder, she was an actress originally I think. And Jason Donovan seems was an actor too..

Eddie Murphy Party all the Time!
Bruce Willis - Respect, but the song would have been lame without June Pointer tearing it up half way through with some powerhouse vocals.
One of my faves would have to be E.G. Daily though. Although, her singing and acting career were sort of simultaneous. but she worked with Giorgio Moroder and Harold Faltmeyer to pump out some hot synth tracks.

In 1980, Burt Reynolds lit up the charts with "Let's Do Something Cheap and Superficial".

Hell to the yes! EG Daily is awesome, and she has an amazing voice. I've always loved her.
Also, let's not forget about Frank Stallone:

Amen.
Add recent topics on Roxette, Tpau, George Michael... WTF is happening to this place?
Stallone does rock, though.

It seems that singers who become actors are more successful and respected by the industry than the other way around. Think Jennifer Hudson, Mark Wahlberg, Cher, Kris Kristofferson, Bowie etc. Actors who become singers tend to suffer a lot of critical backlash and end up as punchlines. Hasselhoff? Eddie Murphy? Don Johnson? Whoever that Al Corley guy was?
Who has been able to rise above it? I can't of anyone except maybe Jamie Foxx.
