Ricky Gervais- Rock Star!

Since there seems to be an insatiable appetite here for posting about 80s artists that sucked, I present the following:

<object width="640" height="390"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/zXhSqmfRTfY&hl=en_US&feature=player_embedded&version=3"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/zXhSqmfRTfY&hl=en_US&feature=player_embedded&version=3" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="640" height="390"></embed></object>

Thanks for the post djcraig...believe it or not, I think Seona Dancing nailed the new wave thing pretty well. Not exactly innovative, but catchy! Ricky had a decent voice for that slightly dark synthpop sound.

It does make for some fun trivia, but it's pretty obvious that Ricky would rather it stay buried in the closet...

Hey, I like this song! Their other single sucked (I'm sure that was the one the Flips loved) but "Bitter Heart" was a smash hit in the U.K.! #79!

Plus, if Ricky hadn't done this, all those interviewers couldn't embarrass him by showing him the video clip on TV.

Has a complete copy of this video ever surfaced? I've looked high and low and have only found clips of it that they've shown on chat shows in an attempt to embarrass Ricky.

<p align="justify">I think there was a full video of it posted on YouTube, which is now long gone. I remember seeing an interviewer question Gervais about this right after the initial run of The Office was complete, and he immediately wanted to change the subject. I mean, he looked downright upset - no joke. You'd think the interviewer was gonna asking if he was bedding Boy George or something hahah[}:)]
