Tonight on Retropolis - They Come From The Land Down Under

Join Retropolis Tonight Monday March 28th at 9:00PM EST for They Come From The Land Down Under with Live Chat and Listening Party.

If you’re not an Australian or a New Zealander, the odds are that you don’t remember Koo De Tah (say it out loud, you’ll soon get the pun) at all, or how about The Venetians, Pseudo Echo, Single Gun Theory or Wa Wa Nee. Tune in tonight to hear great music from these bands and more on They Come From The Land Down Under!

Thanks TM...stay tuned for another one coming soon!

I am looking to get Peking Man ST release and also on the hunt for some Marginal Era.
so if anyone has those please contact me.

Retropolis will be on a break for April while under construction due to water damages to 3/4 of my home. Hoping it doesn't take more than 3 weeks. During that time every Monday, you can find a BEST Of Retropolis, past shows that have not aired in the last 5 years...so if you missed them the first time you can listen for a limited time on MixCloud. The shows from the last year are available on MixCloud 24/7 on demand.

Enjoy!

Can you play it off an mp3? If so...

Also have "See Hear Touch" 7" and "This Heaven" 12". Need to dig them out -- not sure where they are. Don't have "You Fascinate" I'm afraid (it's been on my want list for a while).

Peking Man album I have on vinyl but not CD.

Thanks SomebodySomewhere...mp3s are fine for the show, I want include as many bands as possible before I end the series. I too have them on my wish list, have not come up on ebay in the last year...if you could I'd be interested in the Peking Man...and let me know if there is anything I can trade. ;-)

Found "See Hear Touch" -- ripping right now.

Peking Man, any track preferences? I presume "Room That Echoes." Any others? "Afraid of the Dark" was my favorite, but I don't run the show!

Pretty sure I have some of their singles as well ("Room That Echoes" on 12" and an earlier version of "Lift Your Head Up High") but none of the stuff from before Margaret Urlich joined.

SS, where is 'How Can I Explain To You' from as I can't find it listed anywhere on the net and has a slightly different sound to the rest of the songs I've heard by them.

I have Room That Echoes - very infectious tune! So anything else you think is good from the ST LP.

Frank, can you rephrase that? I'm sorry, I didn't understand the question.

DJ, "Room That Echoes" is the only thing of theirs I have on CD. The rest hopefully can tide you over until you find someone who has the CD. "Good Luck to You" and "Lift Your Head Up High" were their other Kiwi hits. "Afraid of the Dark" and "Running in the Human Race" are the highlights among the non-singles.

SS, since I can't find the song listed anywhere could you tell me where it's from and I cannot see it on any of their singles.

Was their 5th and last (7") single. Released in Australia in 1986.

How Can I Explain / A Lot Like You
Centre/PolyGram 885 110-7 (Cent 8)

DJ, I saw it once on Trademe NZ (or whatever it's called) but way out of my price range. Plus, I'm not really sure if those sellers even want to deal with people in the States.

Will post "This Heaven" and other Peking Man things when, mostly if, I can turn them up.
