We haven't had a vs. topic for awhile. Gosh, I hope we haven't had this question. Anywyas, so which one guys? I love some Morrissey songs but The Smiths were just cool. Johnny Marr is awesome and they had a better image when they were The Smiths. I'm going to have to go with The Smiths. How Soon Is Now, no matter how overplayed, overmentioned, overpopularized, it's a fricking awesome song.

The Smiths!
Morrissey was just more of the same, minus the cool guitars and drumming and bass.

The Smiths. For me, the only song Morrissey had that even came close to
being as good as The Smiths was "Alsatian Cousin".

Hands down The Smiths. I really like Morrissey but I think his music still has a Smith sound to it minus Marr.
and yes "How soon is now" is a fricking awesome song![:D]Love it!

Definitely the Smiths. Morrisey and Marr was just a great combo. Still keep hoping they will get back together and give us one more album, but thats not bloody likely, is it?

Isn't this kinda like asking "The Clinton Administration" or "Al Gore"?? Duh, I'll take the administration!

The Smiths with/without Morrissey is almost like U2 without Bono. I like Bono but I think it's the group as a whole that makes them so great!

The Smiths w/o a doubt. I love the Morrissey solo stuff but the whole group together came up with my favorite New Wave lyric of all time..."some girls mother's are bigger than other girl's mothers"!
